Step 0
Install new kernel
Mk2 kernel for player version 2 beta
Kernel patch
Or get the latest hijack kernel at empeg-hijack.sourceforge.net
Step 1
Tin pads on LED board

Step 2
Assemble LED Board, red line denotes notch in LED. Remember resistors are non polarized. Note, when placing LEDs keep them away
from the center as they could interfere with the knob. There are two types of LEDs. Kits from now on will have the smaller type.

Step 3
If you have a 5 volt power supply you can test the board

The lead on top is +5V, bottom right is GND and bottom left is on/off signal
Step 4
Install LED Board over knob shaft, it should fit so the board is slightly below the center of the nipple on the display, be very
careful when fitting.
Solder leads to pads shown in figure below, signal wire can be run under the display. This can be done without removing display
board, although it is a pain is the arse ;)
Be careful of the nipple on the lower right of the display. If you break it you break the display.

Step 4
Apply power, and look for smoke 8^0

Step 5
Reassemble and rejoice 8^)
